Resumo

The concept of knowledge organization system (Knowledge Organization System, KOS) is introduced and discussed in this article. Approaches to the typology of KOS are considered. The BARTOC database is analyzed, containing the most complete list of KOS, including more than 130 philological KOS. Philological KOS related to the following types are described: authority lists, terminologies and glossaries, hierarchical classifications, metadata systems, thesauri, ontologies, as well as some unique KOS. Russian philological KOS are considered separately. It is proposed to create a database of Russian philological KOS, as a component of the infrastructure of the Russian scientific and scholarly information space.
