All participants underwent anthropometric assessment: height and weight were measured, body mass index (BMI) was calculated using the Quetelet formula: BMI = weight (kg)/height² (m²). Biochemical analyses included: total cholesterol (TC), C-reactive protein (CRP), creatinine, urea, (IL-6), (IL-1β).</p> <p>Correlation analysis showed a positive relationship between BMI and the level of proinflammatory cytokines, and an inverse relationship between IL-6, IL-1β and SCF. Thus, an increase in the inflammatory response is associated with both an increase in obesity and a decrease in the filtration capacity of the kidneys.</p>
